Kerry Wood book signing at the Chicago Cubs Store!
Fans lined up for hours to catch a glimpse of Kerry Wood of the Chicago Cubs as he signed copies of his book,Be All You Can Be' at the Chicago Cubs Store in Wrigleyville.
The youngest fan I met was 5 who definitely knew more about baseball than I did.
Wood did not disappoint as he greeted each fan, posed for photos and signed away.
Proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit his charity:
http://www.woodfamilyfoundation.org
You can also connect with them on Facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/WoodFamilyFoundation
Across the street the Wrigley Field marquee was lit up with 'Cubs Win' or the final score of 8 to 6 against the Padres. While I was waiting for Kerry Wood to arrive,I lost track of the celebratory fans trying to climb into the big 'macaroni noodle' in front of the store. Sure guys, that's a way to impress your date!

SEASONS 52: NIGHTLY ENTERTAINMENT AT THE PIANO BAR
SEASONS 52: NIGHTLY ENTERTAINMENT AT THE PIANO BAR
Local musicians to be featured at Oak Brook’s newest
restaurant
What: Every
night from 6 p.m. until closing, performers will entertain diners and bar
guests with contemporary eclectic favorites performed at the restaurant’s
unique circular piano bar. The full Seasons 52 menu will be available at the
piano bar, allowing guests to savor signature flatbreads and fresh seasonal
entrees while enjoying the live entertainment.
WHEN:
Nightly, from 6 p.m. to closing
WHO:
Kate Steinberg is a
composer, songwriter, session singer, music supervisor, voice-over talent,
vocal and piano instructor, musical theater enthusiast, and
multi-instrumentalist based in Chicago. She has gone on to work in Chicago at a
boutique audio post house called NoiseFloor as a composer and music supervisor.
During her time at NoiseFloor she has co-composed the original score for the
indie feature film, "The Moleman of Belmont Avenue", sang and
arranged the jingle airing regionally on AM radio for Roger's Auto Group, and
has written music for multiple viral videos that can be seen on sites such as
Funny or Die by comedian Aaron Glaser.
Robert Bozaich
has been a part of the Chicago nightclub scene since the early 90’s. He first
worked as D.J. and Entertainer at The Baja Beach Club and Baja Live! Finished a
seven-year run as an entertainer at Howl At The Moon (dueling piano bar) in
2009. Since then Robert has been performing regularly at Heart and Soul Dueling
Piano Bar, The Zebra Lounge (both in downtown Chicago), Seasons 52 Restaurant
(Schaumburg), and Flight Wine Bar (Glenview). Other local (Chicago) venues
Robert has played recently include The Redhead Piano Bar, Mastro’s Steakhouse
and Hugo’s Frog Bar.
Samuel Wyatt has been playing professionally
around Chicagoland for the last nine years. Growing up in the western suburb of
St. Charles, it was the diverse sounds of Elton John, Frank Sinatra and Jimi
Hendrix that got him interested in music.
Stan Karcz has no
reservations about revealing his heart through his songs and performance. His
vocals range from roadhouse rocker to soulful balladeer. His debut CD, Just Me
(SAK Records), recorded in Nashville, traverses a wide emotional terrain: from
the wistful "Explain It To My Heart" to the rowdy "I Got My Back
To The Blues," "Lost Emotions" and the honky-tonkin' "As
Girls Go By".
Tom Linsk's
unique approach to every song demonstrates how audiences are enthralled by his
versatility. Furthermore, Tom developed and perfected a style of his own,
enhancing his performances into a realm of supreme quality. He performs
exceptionally in various styles - from standards, jazz, rock, and pop to
contemporary music and crowd favorites. Tom spent his early years in Las Vegas,
NV, inspired and influenced by the great performers of the time. After stints
in St. Louis and Miami, he relocated to Chicago where his musical career
flourished.
John Zamojcin has
had the pleasure of singing and performing at some of the Chicago areas hottest
spots for live music for more than 15 years and many of Chicagolands esteemed
steakhouses and restaurants. In addition to playing the usual piano-bar fodder
(“Piano Man”, “Brown-Eyed Girl”, “Tiny Dancer”, “Sweet Caroline”, Sinatra…) he
loves to go off the grid and play some almost-forgotten classic songs, dabble
in country, Broadway, jazz and, especially, feature the newest in contemporary
music like Dave Matthews, Train, Kings of Leon, and more.

BREAK4HEALTH: NEW BREAKTHROUGH HEALTH AND EXERCISE FACILTY FOR BUSY PROFESSIONALS NOW OPEN IN CHICAGO!
BREAK4HEALTH: NEW BREAKTHROUGH HEALTH AND EXERCISE FACILTY FOR BUSY PROFESSIONALS NOW OPEN AT 35 WEST WACKER DRIVE
SECOND TO OPEN DOWNTOWN CHICAGO THIS SUMMER
PRESIDENT/CEO JENNY MANDELL SHARES SECRET
TO HER MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS REMISSION
President and CEO of Break4Health Jenny Mandell says, “Break4Health
is the perfect health and wellness solution for the hectic schedules of
individuals who work in a metropolitan city and do not have time for a
traditional work out.”
Break4Health offers cutting equipment including bioDensity™,
a system designed to stimulate the natural processes in the body that
create new bone mass, muscular density, increase caloric use, and
amplify nervous system connections for coordination and balance.
Success is gauged by "force production" of the body, which typically
increases with each session and is recorded, analyzed and delivered to
the user via email at the end of each session. bioDensity™ sessions take about five minutes each, once a week.
Break4Health also incorporates the use of Power Plate®,
the leading whole body vibration technology, helping users to enhance
reflexes, balance, muscular strength and circulation, while reducing
visceral body fat and further enhancing bone health. Additionally, Power Plate® has shown positive outcomes in patients with Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and cerebral palsy.
Jenny
Mandell had always been an active and energetic woman full of vitality,
until a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in 2000, after the birth of her
second son, changed her entire life. She became completely inactive as
her balance and basic bodily functions spiraled downwards. After years of monthly infusions, she was introduced to bioDensity™, a system that has only been available on a limited basis to the public for the past three years. In combination with Power Plate® as an add-on to her bioDensity™ resistance-training
regime, she regained her strength, energy and vitality. After just
three months of training, Jenny ran in the Chicago Marathon in 2009,
which sparked a desire to share her life-altering experiences from bioDensity™ and Power Plate® with the world. Hence, the idea for Break4Health was born. And, today Jenny Mandell is off all medication and in full remission!
About Break4Health

Chef Charlie McKenna of Lillie’s Q honoring his late aunt with charity fundraiser
Chef
Charlie McKenna of Lillie’s Q honoring his late aunt with charity
fundraiser throughout June with restaurant discounts and reservations
Charlie McKenna, chef and owner of Lillie’s Q that
serves award-winning competition BBQ along with Southern favorites in
Bucktown (1856 W North Ave), will sell bracelets throughout the month of
June that come with perks at the restaurant to honor his aunt who died
of breast cancer.
Chef McKenna’s aunt, Katherine McKenna Brothers, died in 2000 after a seven-year battle with breast cancer. Charlie’s father, Quito (who was Katherine’s brother), and his uncle, Chris Brothers (who was Katherine’s husband), set up The Katherine McKenna Brothers Scholarship Fund several years ago. The fund provides scholarship money for students at the all-women's school Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia, where Katherine received her undergrad degree.
Patrons who donate at least $10 will receive one of the pink silicone gel bracelets -- which feature the Lillie’s Q name, Katherine’s initials (KMB), and a pig – and will also receive 10 % off all their tabs at Lillie’s Q for the lifetime of the restaurant. The only stipulation is that patrons must be wearing the bracelet to get the discount.
Patrons who donate at least $50 will receive one of the pink silicone gel bracelets, 10 % off all their tabs at Lillie’s Q for the lifetime of the restaurant, and one future reservation at Lillie’s Q. Lillie’s Q does not accept reservations otherwise. The only stipulation is that patrons must be wearing the bracelet to get the discount and reservation.
“My aunt was born in June, so that’s why we’re honoring her with this special fundraising effort for the entire month,” Charlie McKenna said. “She was a tremendous inspiration to me, and I miss her and think about her every single day. We’re hoping to raise $10,000 for her scholarship fund this June. If we hit that goal with the help of our customers, it’ll mean more to me than any award.”

About Lillie’s Q: Chef Charlie McKenna (formerly the sous chef at Tru and Avenues) opened Lillie’s Q restaurant in July 2010 specializing in award-winning competition BBQ, Southern favorites and sides in Bucktown as a homage to his family’s deep cooking roots. McKenna has competed on the competition BBQ circuit with his father and friends the last 10 years, and the team won the prestigious Memphis In May BBQ competition in 2007 in the whole pork shoulder category and placed in Top Ten every year from 2006 through 2010 and finished 12th in 2011. McKenna opened an outpost of Lillie’s Q in Destin, FL with his parents in 2008. At Lillie’s Q in Chicago, McKenna is smoking pork shoulder for pulled pork, tri-tip, baby back ribs, and chicken in two custom built smokers over peach wood and lump charcoal. McKenna began cooking Southern favorites and sides with grandma Lillie and his mother at an early age and those standouts make their way onto the Lillie’s Q menu via shrimp & grits, chicken & dumplings, smoked fried chicken, pimento cheese, fried pickles, boiled peanuts, Brunswick stew, baked beans, macaroni & cheese and banana pudding. Lillie’s Q features moonshine-based specialty cocktails (like the “Morning Lillie” that’s a play on a Bloody Mary and the “M&M&M” that’s a mint julep riff), 10 All-American craft drafts (including a specially-made copper lager by Chicago’s Metropolitan Brewing that pairs with the BBQ), and a rotating selection of All-American craft bottled beers. Located at 1856 W North Ave (773.772.5500), Lillie’s Q serves lunch and dinner daily from 11am-10pm Sunday thru Wednesday, and 11am-11pm Thursday thru Saturday. “Like” Lillie’s Q on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/LilliesQ and follow Lillie’s Q on Twitter at http://twitter.com/LilliesQChicago and check out Lillie’s Q on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/LilliesQChicago

The Boston Pops, in its 127th year, has a rich and storied history that began with its founding in 1885. The Boston Pops Orchestra has distinguished itself as the founder of and leader in its genre, presenting the best of a wide variety of music from jazz to pop, indie rock to big band, film music to the great American songbook, and Broadway to classical. Though Arthur Fiedler's nearly 50-year tenure as Pops conductor (1930-1979) established the Boston Pops as a national icon, Conductor Laureate John Williams (1980-1993) and present-day conductor Keith Lockhart (1995-present) have shepherded the orchestra through three decades of tumultuous change in the world of music. The Boston Pops, "America's Orchestra," performs for an audience of nearly 900,000 people annually in Boston, across the country and around the world, and reaches millions more through its recordings and television broadcasts. Boston 4 Productions (www.july4th.org) has produced this annual event for the past 39 years, for which approximately 800,000 people pack Boston's Charles River Esplanade.
