Evan Nesbit: Cellophane Grip, a solo exhibition of new works by Evan Nesbit, is on view through October 28, 2017 at the gallery's 23 East 73rd Street location. The show features four acrylic-on-burlap paintings from Nesbit’s Porosity series, as well as six paintings from his Manifold series made using acrylic and ink jet on perforated vinyl fabric. Presenting these two bodies of work together for the first time, the exhibition explores the artist’s investigation into texture and material in a practice that engages how the body mediates surfaces and the tensions they contain. Accompanying the show is a fully illustrated catalogue with an essay by Alex Bacon.

Justise Winslow, Oscar and George Feldenkreis, Carlos Ponce
Perry Ellis International (PEI) transformed NASDAQ’s closing bell ceremony into fashion-central, kicking off the fashion leader’s 50th anniversary milestone year. PEI’s Oscar Feldenkreis, CEO & President, and his father George Feldenkreis, Founder, rang the closing bell at Nasdaq alongside leading fashion influencers, athletes and celebrities that included Justise Winslow of the Miami Heat and singer/actor Carlos Ponce. PEI’s diverse fashion portfolio appeals to global markets via a crossroads of sought-after lifestyle leaders: men’s brands include Perry Ellis, Original Penguin by Munsingwear, Savane, Cubavera and Farah; golf brands include Callaway, PGA TOUR, Jack Nicklaus, Grand Slam, and Ben Hogan; women’s brands include Rafaella, Laundry by Shelli Segal, and Peony & Me; the swim brands feature Nike and Jantzen.
As part of the Nasdaq closing bell ceremony event honoring its 50th anniversary, PEI presented exclusive social media forums broadcast live from the company’s showrooms in New York. International media presentations featured George and Oscar Feldenkreis alongside family members, global fashion influencers and industry leaders, athletes and celebrities, and executive members of PEI. The company’s associates were featured throughout the morning on the Times Square Nasdaq Marketsite Tower and Marquee, as part of a worldwide campaign to recognize the contributions of its associates around the world to PEI’s half-century of success.

Celebrating our 50th anniversary is a tremendous milestone for Perry Ellis International, including our 2,500 associates across the globe,” said Oscar Feldenkreis, CEO and President of Perry Ellis International. “Recognizing their contributions to our global success is paramount to this golden anniversary year, and being featured on a billboard in Times Square is just one of the many ways we plan to celebrate our worldwide team of associates this year.” Watch replays of the social media forums at: and

As the 50th anniversary momentum continues throughout this milestone year, PEI will spearhead new philanthropic initiatives and future-focused industry strategies.

“As Perry Ellis International embarks on our next half-century, we see the rapidly changing retail landscape as an opportunity, not as a challenge,” adds Oscar Feldenkreis. “This approach drives our fusion of technology and product innovation, along with our focus on the digital mindset."

"Over the past five decades, PEI has expanded on its ability to steer its global vision and adapt to change, focusing on growth while taking a transformative approach towards the future,” adds Oscar Feldenkreis.
