Writers Theatre

Dear Friends,
We are writing to ask for your help in reaching our fundraising goal this 25th Anniversary year with your gift of support.
This year, Writers Theatre presented our first-ever 6-play season, and our record-breaking attendance of over 58,000 means more audience members than ever before experienced the art on our stages. During this milestone season our artistic team mounted a World Premiere Adaptation of Julius Caesar, the Literary Development Initiative supported and produced a World Premiere production with PigPen Theatre Co., and we ended the season staging our largest production to date with the musical Parade.
Our new space enabled us to expand our award-winning Education Programs, and over 1,300 students visited our new home to experience performances of Julius Caesar and The Hunter and the Bear. Our teaching artists also continued to work in classrooms throughout Chicagoland to deliver programs like the Novel Series and Write On! to engage students with texts, and nurture their creativity. All told, this year our programs reached the furthest in WT history, with a grand total of 11,500 students served.
With this incredible growth has come the need for greater support. Ticket sales only cover half the annual budget, meaning your support is absolutely essential to our work. We need your help to ensure Writers Theatre can continue to grow our audiences, and continue to increase the number of students who receive theatre-based education programs focused on building literacy, self-expression, critical thinking and civic responsibility.
Please help us reach our annual fundraising goal by making a gift in honor of this 25th Anniversary Season before our fiscal year ends on July 31st. With your investment, we will continue to further the reach of thought-provoking, bold, and impactful theatre.
Our deepest thanks to you for your vital partnership.
With gratitude,
