  Converge 45 presents its second year of programming under the direction of Inaugural Guest Artistic Director Kristy Edmunds, Executive and Artistic Director at the Center for the Art of Performance at UCLA. Edmunds’ curatorial framework for Converge 45: You in Mind, brings artists, curators, collectors, and the general public to the Northwest with the goal of engaging in critical conversations.

Building upon Converge 45’s Artists’ Congress, which in 2016 brought together 21 artists from across the US to participate in three days of candid conversation, Kristy Edmunds presents new and existing works by these artists and more to present exhibitions in Portland. 2017’s participating artists include Lita Albuquerque (CA), Drew Cameron (CA), Demian DinéYazhi/RISE: Radical, Indigenous, Survivance & Empowerment (OR), Chris Doyle (NY), Brian Droitcour with home school (Victoria Anne Reis + manuel arturo abreu) (NY), Tannaz Farsi (OR), KSMoCA (OR), MK Guth (OR), Ann Hamilton (OH), Stephen Hayes (OR), Jessie Henson (NY), Jim Hodges (NY), David Horvitz (NY), Chris Johanson (CA), James Lavadour (OR), Ellen Lesperance (OR), Catherine Opie (CA), Claire Pentecost (IL), Yassi Mazandi (CA), MSHR (NY), Jennifer Steinkamp (CA), Storm Tharp (OR), and Sharita Towne (OR).

Exhibition Venues include Disjecta Contemporary Art Center; KSMoCA; Oregon College of Art and Craft, Hoffman Gallery; PNCA, Center for Contemporary Art & Culture; Portland Art Museum; Portland Institute for Contemporary Art; Portland State University, Littman Gallery; Reed College, Douglas F. Cooley Memorial Art Gallery; and the public realm.
