Silver Eye Center for Photography
Saturday, June 24, 2017, 6:00 - 11:00 pm
Silver Eye invites you to celebrate our move to the Penn Avenue Arts District in the Bloomfield-Garfield neighborhood with a (re)Opening Celebration on Saturday, June 24, 2017.
Join us for a housewarming party with friends and photography. From 6:00
- 8:00pm, VIPs will share in a champagne toast to our new gallery and
enjoy big bites and drinks from local purveyors. The celebration
continues throughout the night for general admission from 8:00 - 11:00
The event also kicks off the inaugural exhibition in Silver Eye's new home with a preview of Past Present Future: Western Pennsylvania's People and Places in the newly named Aaronel deRoy Gruber & Irving Gruber Gallery at Silver Eye. Past Present Future
celebrates the history, current moment, and future of photography in
Pittsburgh, and features over 100 photographs from regional artists
spanning over 100 years.
All proceeds from this fundraising celebration support Silver Eye’s transition to Penn Avenue through our New Vision Campaign.

Aaronel deRoy Gruber & Irving Gruber Gallery
Silver Eye is honored to announce a generous gift from the Irving
and Aaronel deRoy Gruber Foundation to name the main gallery at Silver
Eye’s new location in the Penn Avenue Arts District. The gift has been
made as part of Silver Eye’s New Vision Campaign.
This commitment from the Gruber Foundation ensures that Silver Eye’s
mission of promoting the medium of photography will thrive in the new
location. The naming of the Aaronel deRoy Gruber & Irving Gruber
Gallery at Silver Eye will serve as a way to honor the couple and
preserve their legacy as longtime supporters of the arts in Pittsburgh.
Silver Eye is delighted that the new gallery will be a beautiful home
for photography for years to come.
