Landmarks Illinois>>"People Saving Places" video project premieres April 21!
"People Saving Places: Stories About the Importance of Place"
Landmarks Illinois' new video project will premiere at a screening event Friday, April 21!
Just two weeks before Landmarks
Illinois premieres the eight, short videos of people saving places
around the state, produced in partnership with Kennedy-King College's
Media Communications Department! The "People Saving Places" video
project is made possible through generous funding from Illinois
Humanities and The Richard and Julia Moe Fund for Statewide and Local
Partners, a fund of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Over the last few months, Landmarks Illinois staff and Kennedy-King College interns have
traveled around Illinois to capture on film the inspiring stories of
people dedicated to historic preservation. These stories show how people
are leveraging historic preservation to boost economic development,
attract cultural heritage tourism and increase pride of place.
screening event on Friday, April 21, will showcase all eight videos
created by the Kennedy-King students. The screening event includes a
discussion with the students on their travel experiences around the
state to capture these inspiring stories. A reception at the nearby The
Lone Buffalo in Ottawa will immediately follow the screening. Reception
registration includes appetizers and two drink tickets.
Space for the reception is limited. Secure your spot today!
