Grammy-Winning Rapper replaces Ludacris in 2017 Lineup
The Memphis in May Beale Street Music Festival announced today that
2017 Grammy-winning rapper 2Chainz will replace Ludacris in this year’s
lineup. The announcement comes after a filming opportunity suddenly
arose for Ludacris, causing him to cancel.
Along with Saturday performances by Kings of Leon,
Wiz Khalifa, Death Cab for Cutie, The Revivalists, and X Ambassadors,
the Atlanta-based rapper will take the Bud Light mainstage at 8:40pm,
May 6. (Complete revised list attached.)
“While we are disappointed Ludacris will not be
performing here this year, we are excited to welcome 2 Chainz to the
Beale Street Music Festival, and are confident our guests will share in
that excitement,” said James L. Holt, President and CEO of Memphis in
May. “To have award-winning artists like 2 Chainz quickly agree to
appear at the Beale Street Music Festival just shows how popular it is
among fans and performers alike.”
Additional first-time Beale Street Music Festival
performers include Tori Kelly, X Ambassadors, Jimmy Eat World, Griz, The
Revivalists, Silversun Pickups, legendary Australian rockers Midnight
Oil, The Strumbellas, Alter Bridge, Machine Gun Kelly, Greensky
