1837 Productions  announces their third indie film “Landline” will have its World Premiere and theatrical release at the Music Box Theatre, and a national VOD release at the end of March.
The new LGBTQ comedy that filmed last year throughout the city and suburbs, includes Wrigley Field, its diversity - and special appearance by Chicago Cubs legend, Ryne Sandberg.
Filmmakers and talent are scheduled to attend the March 26th Premiere at 7:00 pm. The film’s daily 5:00 pm screening runs March 31st – April 6th and VOD distribution hits nationwide April 4th, 2016 by Freestyle Digital Media in Los Angeles.
LANDLINE tells the story of a huge Chicago Cubs fan who works as a public relations executive, Ted Gout.  Ted loses a big promotion to a new college graduate who has the upper hand when it comes to technology. Ted soon embarks on a low-tech, old school journey to find himself. He decides to literally give up his cell phone and disconnects.  With his husband and friends in tow, Ted experiences the pros and cons of modern technology before finding a way to win his promotion back so he and his husband can buy their dream home.
LANDLINE was written, produced, and directed by its lead actor, Matthew Aaron (‘Ted Gout’). Also featured are Tom Arnold (‘Chuck Gout’), Jim O’Heir (“Steve Gout”), Betsy Brandt (‘Fiona’), Nick Searcy (‘Officer Garrett’), Louie Lombardi (‘Chaz’), and Chicago Cub legend Ryne Sandberg as himself.
Writer, Producer, Director and lead actor, Matthew Aaron was born in Chicago and raised in Downers Grove. He has been a huge Cubs fan all of his life and grew up watching Ryne Sandberg play for the Cubs. Matthew and his producer hunted down Ryne Sandberg, told him about the project. Matthew got up the courage and flat-out asked Ryne if he would do it and Sandberg said, “it sounds great” and shook Matthew’s hand.
"Making LANDLINE was a dream come true for me,” said writer/director/producer Matthew Aaron. “Every movie that gets made is a small miracle, and I know people are ready to enjoy a cute comedy that'll make them smile and think about putting down their phones once in a while so they can just enjoy life!
