53rd Chicago International Television Festival Extends Deadline to March 7

FOR COMPETITION SUBMISSIONS THROUGH TUESDAY, MARCH 7
Three-Day Micro-Festival, Honoring the Best in Television Programming and Advertising Production,
To Be Presented March 21 – 23 at AMC River East
Sam Flancher, coordinator of the Chicago International Film Festival’s Television Festival, announced today, the deadline for competition entries has been extended through Tuesday, March 7 at 6 p.m.

A three-day micro-festival, The Chicago International Television
Festival honors the best in local, national and international television
and advertising productions with screenings and panel discussions. The
festival culminates with a festive Awards Night honoring the
achievements of producers, content creators and advertisers from around
the world, while also celebrating the careers of legendary performers,
journalists and content producers. A component of the Chicago
International Film Festival, the Television Festival was expanded into a
stand-alone spring event in 2016, featuring an array of programming
that highlights local work and innovative contributions from across the
industry, as well as providing insight-filled public discussions between

television programs and series, and more than 30 categories for
television commercials. Programming for the first two days of the
Television Festival will be announced at a future date. The Awards Night
will be presented March 23 at 7 p.m.; tickets are $75 and include a
pre-event cocktail reception.
“We have already received hundreds of excellent entries from throughout the world,” said Flancher.
“This extended deadline is the final opportunity for producers to
submit their work for consideration, and we expect the competition for
awards this year to be particularly fierce.”
Cinema/Chicago, the presenting organization of the Chicago
International Film Festival, is a year-round not-for-profit arts and
education organization dedicated to fostering better communication
between people of diverse cultures through the art of film and the
moving image. Proceeds from the Festival benefit Cinema/Chicago’s
programs throughout the year, including the International Screenings
Program, the Chicago International Television Festival, CineYouth
Festival, the Education program and Members Film Screening Series.
Celebrating its 53rd edition October 12 – 26, 2017, the
Chicago International Film Festival is North America’s longest-running
competitive film festival.
