50x50 Neighborhood Arts Project
"Application Deadline is March 10, 2017 (Extended)
Don't miss this opportunity to create new public artworks throughout the city's neighborhoods as part of the "Year of Public Art"
designated by Mayor Rahm Emanuel and DCASE. Inspired by Chicago's 50
wards and the 50th anniversary of the Picasso in Daley Plaza and the Wall of Respect
that once stood at 43rd Street and Langley Avenue, the 50x50 initiative
will provide up to $1 million for new public art projects.
Artists-including painters, photographers and sculptors-interested in
brightening and enhancing the city are invited to submit their
qualifications for the project at cityofchicago.org/yopa.
Albany Park Branch Library Video Art
Application Deadline is March 12, 2017 DCASE--working closely
with Chicago Public Library, Alderman Laurino and
community stakeholders--invites professional artists working in video to
submit their interest and qualifications for a public art commission at
Albany Park Branch Library. Four artists/teams will be commissioned at
$4500 each to create original video artworks for the City of Chicago's

Chicago Jazz Festival Art Fair
Application Deadline is March 31, 2017
Known for its artistic creativity, the Chicago Jazz Festival
showcases FREE live performances by Chicago's vast jazz talent alongside
national and international artists. The event's Art Fair takes place
Friday, September 1, through Sunday, September 3, in Millennium Park's
Wrigley Square from 11am to 9:30pm. Application and guideline

Chicago Gospel Music Festival A&R Auditions
Application Deadline is February 17, 2017
this year, the Gospel Music Festival Artists & Repertoire (A&R)
Auditions is an opportunity for musicians to perform live for an
audience including a panel of major music and marketing executives from
the Gospel music industry. To apply for a FREE audition slot,
Chicagoland-based artists in the gospel music and contemporary Christian
genres are encouraged to submit a two-minute live performance video at chicagogospelmusicfestival.us. Selected artists will perform March 11 at the West Point Missionary Baptist Church.
Lake FX A&R Auditions
Application Deadline is March 1, 2017
DCASE is excited to invite Chicagoland musicians and bands of
all genres to apply to perform live for a panel of Artists &
Repertoire (A&R) executives from major labels at the Lake FX
CreativeCon this April 21 & 22. To apply for a FREE audition slot,
artists are encouraged to submit a two-minute live performance video.
All applicants must be 18 or older and reside in the Chicagoland area.

Application Deadline is March 31, 2017 The
Chicago Film Office is now accepting entries from local filmmakers for
the Chicago Made Short Series that screens one independent short film
prior to each feature screening of the Millennium Park Summer Film
Series, Tuesdays, June 13-August 29. Selected short films will screen
once to an audience of 8,000-10,000 and receive a screening fee of $250.
Chicago-based filmmakers are invited to submit original, entertaining
short films no longer than 8 minutes at chicagofilmoffice.us.
