As many of you know, Blake Ward's "INNER PERCEPTIONS, OUTER REFLECTIONS" which
opened last April was one of the most successful exhibitions in the
history of Hilton | Asmus Contemporary! Blake's exquisite angels and
goddesses have now graced many a beautiful collection in Chicago and
throughout the United States. Of all of the statues, none was more
sought after than the 24 karat gold & bronze "PHANTOM SKY" who now resides in the beautiful home of a Minnesota collector.
In the meantime, many of you have asked for another 24 karat gold angel. We are happy to announce that SKY'S soul sister, PHANTOM ZELLA, has just arrived at Hilton | Asmus Contemporary and is looking forward to meeting you.
We invite you to welcome ZELLA and her entourage.
The beautiful phantom will be accompanied by
3 new angel/goddesses ISHTAR, ANTHRIEL & INNANA.
Blake Ward's works from his Spirits Collection illustrate his contemporary approach
to figurative sculpture with a contrarian break from formal
academicism. Ward challenges the classical figure by exposing the
interior evoking a dialogue between our internal and external selves. While building on the techniques of figurative
sculpture lost in antiquity, Ward remains true to
their representational qualities, yet his Spirit Collection is a
transgression of the rules, crossing over into the abstract and ethereal
realms of our inner worlds.
1/4 life-size, partial figures materialize before us. Both seductive
and tragic, their perfect proportions reflect the hidden perspectives of
our human condition. The textured exterior surface alludes to the
complexity of our individuality. The open, exposed interior elicits
introspection. Holding fast to his love of the human figure, Ward leads
us toward self-discovery.
