WILLIS TOWER SKYDECK LAUNCHES VALENTINE’S DAY
WEDDING EXPERIENCE FROM 103 FLOORS ABOVE CHICAGO
Inaugural Social Media Contest for a Private Wedding Ceremony on The Ledge
For the first time in Willis Tower's 42-year history, the iconic skyscraper is giving loving couples the chance to win a Valentine’s Day wedding ceremony atop the highest observation deck in the United States at Skydeck Chicago’s 103rd floor, which is 1,353 feet high. Beginning today, couples are encouraged to participate in a social media contest by submitting video entries for a chance to win the ultimate wedding ceremony above the majestic Chicago skyline.
Couples looking for a unique way to tie the knot or renew their vows can enter the Skydeck Wedding Contest by submitting a video entry on the Skydeck Facebook page. In two-minutes or less, contestants should explain why they should be selected to win the wedding ceremony of a lifetime at the height of Chicago’s most iconic landmark. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, couples are encouraged to share in their entries their most romantic moments; stories of how they met; why they are choosing to spend the rest of their lives together, or how their love has stood the test of time. Submissions can be uploaded beginning today until Monday, February 1. Winners will be selected and notified on Monday, February 8 (one entry per couple, maximum 2 minutes in length).
Four winning couples will be selected to declare their vows from The Ledge’s glass box, which extends out 4.3 feet from the skyscraper’s famed Skydeck. Each couple will have a private 15-minute ceremony accompanied by up to ten special guests. Whether writing their own vows or embracing the promises instated by the officiant, winning couples can be assured that this official wedding ceremony will be one to remember. With the Chicago skyline as the backdrop, couples will be able to commemorate their picture perfect marriage with a complimentary photo taken by Willis Tower’s in-house photographer on the world-famous Ledge. When the ceremony concludes, the newlyweds and their loved ones will join together for a champagne toast on Willis Tower’s awe-inspiring 99th floor.
