The inaugural edition of X Contemporary will launch during Art Basel Miami Beach December 2-6, 2015, with a vernissage for VIP guests and press on December 1st, from 5 to 10 p.m.
The fair is set to take place in Miami's burgeoning Wynwood Arts District, an area that has transformed from a manufacturing district filled with neglected warehouses into one of the most prominent creative communities in the United States. For its inaugural year, X Contemporary is pleased to collaborate with local businesses in Wynwood, forming partnerships with East End Capital and the Concrete Beach Brewery.
X Contemporary will host over 30 exhibitors from around the world including Michael Klein Arts LLC who will present, Grace Hartigan 1960-1965, The Perry Collection; Hecho en Cuba presented by Arte Collective; Colombia N.O.W. presented by TIMEBAG; and sculptures by Jonas Stirner created specifically for X Contemporary and presented by Robert Fontaine Gallery.
The fair will also present a series of events celebrating Wynwood's creative community featuring well known artists from around the world, culminating with an after hours celebration on December 5th, hosted in partnership with the Wynwood Arts Community. The evening will include a launch party for Clara Vanessa's Uninhibited Urban Art Magazine a bi-monthly art publication featuring HoxxoH in the first edition with appearances by The London Police and El Pez from Barcelona. X Contemporary will also host a 3-day series of events curated by Qi Chi Webster including Eli Reed NYC Pop Up Shop, a live skateboard exhibition with pro skaters, Eli Reed and Joel Meinholz featuring live skateboarding; live art by Torrick Ablack AKA Toxic; new design releases by Eli Reed with a giveaway of Organika decks.
