COCKTAIL RECEPTION MEET THE ARTIST: GAIL MANCUSO "CHICAGO - SYNCHRONICITY" Thursday * January 29 * 6 pm to 8 pm (Chcago)
GAIL MANCUSO, former model turned street artist will discuss her
photographic process focusing on architecture and design, nature and
human forms, in an ultra dimensional format. Mancuso's
wide range of techniques culminates in a composition that is abstract,
yet all at once recognizable. The technical aspects of her photography
are infused with a heightened sense of rhythm. Unlike
other photographers who control and pose their subjects, Mancuso finds a
natural focus to create her layered abstracts that envelop a room with
restraint. Each is a highly dimensional character, infused with a
blending of multiple images. The artist recently completed a 7 x 25 foot
photomontage of over 420 photographs of Chicago for SEVEN LIONS, a new
restaurant opening on Michigan Avenue (across the street from the Art
Institute). An announcement of the opening and unveiling of Gail
Mancuso's CHICAGO - SYNCHRONICITY mural will be forthcoming.
