Please Join us for Breath of the Warrior: A
Ritual to Empower Your Voice", the fifth of ten Archetype Art Rituals
based on the Life Force Wheel series of exhibits. Surrounded by the
powerful artwork of the exhibit, each Art Ritual in the series invokes
one of ten Archetypes, activating the spiritual power of the visual,
literary and performing arts and bringing the audience to an inner
landscape of the human spirit, healing energy and mystical experience.
Breath is the most powerful tool we have as warriors. It is our
spirit/consciousness. In this ritual of empowerment, shamanic artist
Sojourner Zenobia will guide the group to embody the energy of the
warrior, working intimately with the breath, building it to sound and
using vision to guide the sound, free writing and group storytelling.
From this place of strength and support Sojourner will use Roy Hart's
extended vocal technique to take you on a journey to find your personal
warrior call so that you can stand in your power, stand with spirit and
be the warrior in your own life.
Sojourner Zenobia trained at Piven Theatre Chicago, The
School of Steppenwolf Chicago and experimental vocal technique at the
Roy Hart Center in Paris. Sojourner has been creating original
performance work since 2005, combining vocal work, movement and
storytelling into participatory ritual performance journeys. Her themes
include the discipline of freedom, human relation to nature and spirit,
the body’s ability to realize wholeness in an instant and loving the
full spectrum of human experience.
