STARRING SHERYL CROW AND FEATURING A LIVE PERFORMANCE BY CIRQUE DU SOLEIL


WHAT:         Macy’s Passport Presents Glamorama 2013 welcomes nine-time Grammy Award winner Sheryl Crow to this year’s event. Crow received widespread acclaim when she exploded into the music scene with her seven-times platinum debut album, “Tuesday Night Music Club” and continued her success with the release of seven studio albums each charting Top 10 and four albums hitting platinum-plus. Her current chart-climbing hit single, "Easy" is off her forthcoming new album due out this September. To date, Sheryl Crow has sold more than 35 million records worldwide.

Cirque du Soleil has brought wonder and delight to more than 100 million spectators in over 40 countries on six continents. The group of more than 1,000 performers is known for its high-quality artistic entertainment that aims to invoke the imagination and provoke the senses. Featuring eight unique shows in Las Vegas and one in Orlando, Cirque du Soleil will showcase its Las Vegas productions at this year’s Macy’s Glamorama.

Macy’s Glamorama is an hour-long high-end fashion show and musical production that not only unveils the latest fashions from the hottest designers, but also showcases heart-stopping dance, lush visuals, staging as well as incredible musical performances by chart-topping artists. This year’s theme is “Fashion in a New Light.” Past musical performers have included Cee-Lo Green, Far East Movement, Cyndi Lauper, BeyoncĂ© Knowles, Robin Thicke, Karmin and more. The evening concludes with an over-the-top after-party at the Rooftop Terrace at Millennium Park. The event will once again benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana (RMHC®-CNI).
       
TICKETS:        Celebrating the 29th year as the Founding Partner of Macy's Passport Presents Glamorama, American Express is proud to sponsor this fun, Illuminating night of fashion and fundraising. Presale for American Express® Card members runs from May 30th through June 5th, 2013. Use any American Express charge or credit card to purchase your tickets before the general public. Ticket prices are $75 for show only; $175 & $285 for show and after-party; $1,000 for VIP show and after-party.

Beginning June 6th tickets will also be available for purchase through the Harris Theater box office.

CHICAGO ARTISTS COALITION LAUNCHES A NEW ART FAIR
EDITION Chicago, September 20-22, 2013
The Chicago Artists Coalition is pleased to announce the launch of a new satellite art fair, EDITION Chicago
, that will showcase cutting-edge galleries and non-profit institutions specializing in limited edition works of art. This is Chicago's first edition-only art fair with an emphasis on high-quality works that will offer collectors a unique and accessible entry point to the art market. EDITION Chicago will be held on September 20-22, 2013 at the Chicago Artists Coalition's West Loop gallery located at 217 N. Carpenter Street, Chicago, Illinois 60607. Admission to the fair will be free with a suggested donation of $10.00. 

Organized by invitation to select dealers around the country, EDITION Chicago will be intimate and highly-curated. The goal of the fair is to engage and foster a new audience of collectors in Chicago and the region by focusing on accessibly-priced works of art by emerging and established artists, which also illuminate unique aspects of an artist's creative practice. EDITION Chicago is emblematic of CAC's enduring commitment to empowering Chicago artists by cultivating a community of future arts patrons and collectors.

We strive to bring to the market a place for cutting edge and up and coming talent who will be the next generation of museum bound, highly collected artists. This will be a great opportunity for new and established collectors to acquire works from these artists on the rise."

The galleries represented at EDITION Chicago will generally showcase works with prices at $5,000 and under. Chicago-based artist Cody Hudson will produce a limited edition print for the fair available only at EDITION Chicago. Taking place the same weekend as the EXPO International Art Fair on Navy Pier, EDITION Chicago offers a unique complement and supports city-wide efforts to establish Chicago as a premier destination for contemporary art.

The Chicago Artists Coalition is partnering with Andrew Rafacz, principal of Andrew Rafacz Gallery, to select galleries who represent the best of emerging talent working in contemporary editions. A complete list of galleries will be announced in Summer 2013, including dealers from Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Miami and other major cities. 

"I'm very excited to be partnering with CAC to bring a new fair concept to Chicago," says Andrew Rafacz. "For me, it's about fostering market development and private and institutional support for our emerging artists, both locally and beyond. It will also introduce collectorship to a new audience, something CAC has been intensely interested in for the last few years."
