CHICAGO (May 15, 2012) – Roots Handmade Pizza (1924 W Chicago Ave) will throw its One-Year Anniversary Party from 11am until 2am on Wednesday, May 30 that will feature food specials, drink specials, free samples of the new Girl & The Goat pizza, and free birthday cake.

All of Roots’ malt crust Quad Cities pizzas will be 50% off during its One-Year Anniversary Party (dine-in only). Drink specials include $1 3oz pours of the Roots House Brew by Two Brothers Brewing Company, and $3 Cazadores tequila shots from open to close during Roots’ One-Year Anniversary Party. There will also be a hosted Cazadores tequila cocktail reception from 9pm to 10pm.

At 10pm during the Roots One-Year Anniversary Party, the restaurant will give out free slices of its new Girl & The Goat pizza to paying customers sitting at the bar. The Girl & The Goat pizza is Roots’ newest chef pizza collaboration with Stephanie Izard of Girl & The Goat. Izard is the second prominent Chicago chef to have a pizza on Roots’ menu joining Charlie McKenna of Lillie’s Q and his Lillie’s Q BBQ Pulled Pork pizza (which will remain on Roots’ menu).

The Girl & The Goat Pizza is comprised of Pleasant Meadows goat sausage ragu topped with Quad Cities mozzarella blend cheese, smoked cheddar cheese, sharp aged cheddar cheese, and finished with a yuzu-maple drizzle. The Girl & The Goat Pizza will be available as a special at Roots for a few months starting on Thursday, May 31; a 12” pie will cost $24, and a 16” pie will cost $30.

Free slices of birthday cake provided by Roots’ sister and adjoining restaurant Bleeding Heart Bakery & Café will be given out to paying patrons in the evening during the Roots One-Year Anniversary Party as well.
