Chicago International Film Festival April 2012: Kelsey Grammer, OPTIMUS, free screenings, and more!
48TH HUGO TV AWARDS TO HONOR KELSEY GRAMMER AND OPTIMUS APRIL 19 AT RADISSON BLU AQUA HOTEL CHICAGO
Beyond the Film Festival, for 47 years we have
been honoring the best of television productions and commercials at our
annual TV Festival – The Hugo Television Awards. The worldwide
competition culminates in an Awards Night Gala (April 19, 2012 at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Chicago)
that showcases the winning works and honors select people and companies
that have had a lasting impact on the medium. This year, we are proud
to present Kelsey Grammer with a Career Achievement Award and Chicago-based OPTIMUS with a Commitment to Excellence Award for their incredible commercial work. For event details and to purchase ticket, click here

Based on an inspiring true story, INTOUCHABLES
tells the tale of an unlikely friendship between two men. Against the
advice of his friends, wealthy quadriplegic Philippe hires ex-con Driss
to be his caregiver. The relationship that develops heals each man in
extraordinary ways as Philippe learns to live outside the confines of
his wheelchair and Driss learns to live outside the confines of his
past. Nominated for 11 Cesar Awards in 2012 (with Omar Sy's Driss
winning a Best Actor award), INTOUCHABLES is a touching, hilarious story
about second chances.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
Tuesday, April 24, 7pm
AMC 600 N. Michigan 9 (entrance at Rush & Ohio)
For a disparate group of English pensioners
(Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Maggie Smith, Tom Wilkinson, Penelope Wilton,
Celia Imrie and Ronald Pickup), retirement takes an unconventional turn
when they abandon their homeland, enticed by advertisements for THE BEST
EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL, a seemingly luxurious sanctuary for "the elderly
and beautiful" in Jaipur, India. On arrival, they discover that the
hotel falls somewhat short of the romantic idyll promised in the
brochure, but they are gradually won over by the ever-optimistic young
manager Sonny (Dev Patel), and tentatively embark on a new adventure,
finding that life can begin again when you let go of the past.
