Actor Rob Lowe was the guest speaker at the Lynn Sage Benefit Luncheon at the Hilton Chicago on October 22,2010.
Rob Lowe’s mother and grandmother had breast cancer, and his father is a survivor of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The Luncheon raised funds for breast cancer research, fellowships and education programs at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University.
Friends of mine that attended the luncheon said he made a 20 minute speech without notes and the crowd was captivated.Those that met him at the meet and greet said he was as charming as he is handsome!

In 1985, the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation was founded in memory of Lynn Sage, who died of breast cancer at the age of 39. Lynn 's ability to endure a six-year struggle with her spirit and dignity intact inspired 17 family members and close friends to establish a foundation to help others battling breast cancer. In the last 25 years, the Foundation has raised more than $20 million, and the original group of 17 has grown to 93 members serving on three boards.
