Berghoff OKTOBERFEST September 17-19,2008 Adams and Dearborn Street

I'm thinking I should just change my name to 'RESERVED.'
Seriously. having been in the media for all of my adult life, I'm used to being shuffled to the media section,VIP room, or at least a better place in a long line.
So,it comes as no surprise when I see an area cordoned off with ropes,a red carpet or people that are wearing far dressier clothes than I,I know I've arrived HOME!

After photographing the 'Redball project' at Union Station and walking around downtown I happened upon an event going on in front of the Post Office on Adams and Dearborn. I didn't realize OKTOBERFEST put on by the Berghoff's was in full swing.

I gravitated to a table that said,RESERVED and the media person in me took over and I just plopped my stuff down. I noticed an interesting array of cheesecake balls on a stick in a bowl of shaved chocolate. I asked the woman at the table if I could photograph it and she said go ahead. She introduced herself as Carolyn Berghoff.
Carolyn has the Berghoff catering which led me to assume I have just crashed her private RESERVED table. Sorry but Thank-you for being such a gracious host!

I was then asked if I was hungry and what would I like ? Chicken ? Bratwurst ?
I opted for the barbecue chicken sandwich and a Berghoff brand Diet Root Beer.

The sandwich was huge and the chicken was grilled to perfection. The barbecue sauce had the best flavor I've ever tasted. I must have the secret recipe. This was heaven.
My photo does not do this sandwich justice!
If your schedule permits, check out OKTOBERFEST Septmber 17-19,2008 from 11am to 9pm on Adams at Dearborn. Live music, food,German beer.
