Sullivan & Adler historic home at 600 w. Stratford in Lake View burns down.




The historic home designed by architect Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler in 1888 at 600 w. Stratford Street in Chicago Illinois USA burned down at appx 2am today. About 8 hours later,a policeman on the scene noticed more smoke and the fire department had to be called in again.



1&2 Today the house was again a news story. A Channel 9 videographer grabs footage for the news.

The house may be razed for new condos this year.
This noted frame house was built in 1888 for Canadian born insurance magnate George M.Harvey.Poised on a nice size lot at 600 w.Stratford Place in Lake View the owner has applied for a demolition permit and plans are in the works for the home to be replaced by 8 to 10 condos.
